Mom's Scones

2 Cup buttermilk
1 beaten egg
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
4 cups Flour
1 Tbsp. dry yeast
3 Tbsp. oil
1 1/4 Tbsp. salt
1 1/2 Tbsp. baking powder

Heat buttermilk to lukewarm.  Pour into Ziploc bag.
Sprinkle in yeast, stir to dissolve.
Add sugar, egg and oil.  Mix well.
Combine salt, baking soda, baking powder and flour; add to buttermilk mixture and mix.
Make sure that the bag is zipped close and refrigerate or put into a cooler over night.
Roll out on floured surface to 1/2 inch thickness.
Cut into desired shapes.
Drop into hot oil in a Dutch oven or frying pan.

Be sure to keep the oil hot while cooking.
